if you were not the brilliant blinding light
of the sun above,
you would be the crimson in the rose
on the vine of love.
If not the crimson color of the rose
then you would be the diamond yellow
from the dark and deep.
if not the diamond then
you would be the song of darkness,
humming ever so quietly
for irreverent souls to reap.
if not the song to heal
a longing and our pain,
simply then, you would be
an ocean in a drop of rain.
