By Rashidah Khalifa
I am not looking for you anymore!
I have seen you pass me by day in and
Day out comes the sun and dries up all the rain.

I feel your warmth in the morning
But, at night when it gets coooooool
You are nowhere to be found.

At dusk is when I awake from my lazy days of sleep.
Some say I have nocturnal blood.

I let my boundless silky tresses run wild.
Your sunshine reflects off my coiffe and makes pretty
Proliferations in the midnight sky like diamonds...

I begin to sigh, when I look into the mirror
They seem to fall pass my shoulder
Falling right into it--

The Mystifying murky waters,
The murky waters are mystifying,
The vigorous undulation of my breeze,

I wonder if the angels are having a hard time flying?
Being nothing more than a slave to my master
Who is known as Ar Rahman--Ar Rahim
He rules all places, One Lord of the Alameen.

I miss you all the time--it has it limits
Dark shadows prostrating in your presence
Trees prostrating to my zephyr and even
If I were to reach like a ballerinas graceful arms...

You would only be at my fingertips
Escaping me in your orbit,
Circumambulating Mercury,
Mars & Venus, Jupiter,
Saturn your turn;

Why cant I feel your bliss?
Lamenting for your presence,
Only Neptune can hear my faint elegy.
Teardrops falling through your rays of light
Softened by clouds before they hit Earth.
Yet, Pluto still has a way of making me laugh as he
conceals Uranus.

Its just the two of us.
Me being the moon and you the sun
Virtually two of everything in creation but,
There is one and only one creator!

Hes the sustainer of the heavens and the earth
Suspending the obscure space between us
Even in my quest to grasp you
I cant unless by his will
It would be you and I until
All things we know will come to an end.

When my metallic hair no longer has its luster
And your warmth ceases to exist
Although we have always conflicted,
You being the ego and I the id
Things seem to work out when
Our master says, "Be and it is"

Ill graze my cool aura against yours
To be heated by your airborne waves,
Even from a thousand miles away.
We are finally together
Its hard to contemplate that
We have become an eclipse.
