Tsunami Ravage
(The profit of our deeds and a trial for believer)
Several people were killed in an earth quake, inferno raged and killed many, hundred were eradicated by hurricane, this is but few among the headline of dailies or media. But ever since in the history had not been recorded of a natural disaster like that of the 2004 tsunami earthquake that took over 200,000 life. What an unfathomable proportion! The tsunami disaster causes most deadly havoc on the land (earth) and rendered many homeless that even their families became perplexed, those affected by the tsunami economically, i.e. the fishermen, vow not to go near water to fish. The water they had been with for some years ago.
The world stood stunned over the big quaver that claim a life of over 200,000 and still rendered many homeless. The political, economical and even social life of the affected area had now struck a rock and scattered to the wind as dust.
Tsunami and other disaster the profit of our deeds
Allah is merciful and all loving that care for his creature, he said Q5: 74
“........ For Allah is oft forgiving most merciful” also Q6:12
But why tsunami and other disaster on us?
Tsunami was nothing but what our own hand (deed) had incur. It is because we had transgressed beyond limit set for us by Allah, Q4:79
“......... but what ever evil happens to thee, is from thyself .....” also
Q8:53
“Allah will never change The Grace which He hath bestowed on a people until they change what is in their own souls”
From the verse above one will take note that nothing come to been, it will be from Allah but the evil one, usually is from our own shortcomings i.e. by disobeying Allah. Those that disobeyed and believed not in Allah are those that calamities befall.
Had similar thing happened before?
Yes! Similar things had happened and will still happen, when Allah seized the people of Ad and Thamud, after they had disbelieve and transgressed beyond all bound. Allah sent to them a terrible storm of thunder, lightning and furious wind blowing exceedingly violent, it raged for good 7 night and 8 days Q69:4- 8
“.... the Thamud and the Ad people disbelieved in the day of noise and clamor but the Thamud they were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightening and the ad people were destroyed by a furious wind exceedingly violent He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days........”
Why Allah did this to his own creature he said he loved? It because they disobeyed Allah and transgressed beyond bound. Allah destroyed not except those that do evils and mischievous acts, those that pay no heed to his commandment. So was the people of Noah who disbelieved, Allah destroyed them with heavy flood of water.
Tsunami blow is just the fruit of our own deeds in the universe, where evil is now our food, if we desist not from evil Allah shall make us to taste of our own chastisement again he said in Q77:v 16- 17
“Did we not destroy the men of old for their evil? So shall we make later generation. (If they embrace evil).
Allah had even described similar things in detail in the Holy Quran Q77:1- 3
“By the wind sent forth one after another to man’s profit which when blow violently in tempestuous gusts, and scatter things far and wide”
The commentary of the above verses appeal to five things pointing to the Day of Judgment that is a substantive statement in verse 7 of the sura. That is earthquake, tidal waves, flood, hurricane etc are been witness they are signs of Qiyama (Judgment Day).
The Holy Prophet had even prophesized the coming of these all these ravages saying they are the sign of The Hour. He said.
‘Abu Hurairah {peace be on him}reported that the messenger of Allah as saying,’ “when the booty is taken in turn, property given in trust is treated as spoil, zakah is looked on as a fine, learning is acquired for other than a religious purpose, a man obeys his wife and is unfilial towards his mother .................................................. voices are raised in the mosques, ..................a man is honored through of the evil he may do, singing girls and string instrument {i.e. modern guitars and pop music} make their appearance wines are drunk, and the last members of this people curse the first ones, look at that time for a violent wind, an earthquake, metamorphosis, pelting rain, and signs following one another like bit of a necklace falling one after the other when its string is cut”
Tsunami a trial for the believer
The tsunami disaster was the saying that filled the air of the whole universe, the question many believer yelled is why All Loving God? But it is the promise of Allah to test believers with grief and fear to know the level to which we have faith in him, Allah said in Q2:155
“Be sure we shall test you with something of fear, hunger, some loss in goods and live...”
So it is the promise of Allah to test the believer with fears, hunger and loss of lives, definitely tsunami is one of those test promised by Allah.
But Allah made promised for us if we bear the test and endure with perseverance and believe in him then he will descend his blessings, mercy and guidance to us. Q2: 155- 157
“........ But give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere who say, when afflicted with calamity: ‘to Allah we belong, and to him is our return’ they are those on whom descend blessing from their lord (Allah) and mercy. .......”
Good news
For us not affected by the disaster, and those saved by the strike of tsunami, we should all know that it is the sign of the Day of Judgment, we should evils and those things that will bring Allah wrath upon us. Such things include; nudity, usury, abortion, homosexual, adultery, materialism, bribery, murdered, hatred, polytheism, etc are what Allah forbid for us.
As I said somewhere above tsunami blow is a Warner, it is now time to stop evil and follow the command of Allah so as to be save and get rewarded Q3:172
“of those who answered the call of Allah and the messenger, (believer) even after been wounded those who do right and refrain from wrong have a great reward
More so I said this is a trial for those who believe Allah said Q2:214
For those who believe in Allah, we need, perseverance and Allah will remove our panic and still descend blessings upon us. For those who insist and continue with their bad deed it time to stop all evils and follow the command of Allah because if we insist to do evil Allah will punish us for our own deed but if we desist Allah promised we will not grief he said, Q2:277
Therefore if we embrace righteousness ours will be the eternal home of bliss, may Allah makes us to hear and obey his commands, we seek Allah forgiveness, to him end all journeys.
We no that on nobody you placed a burden greater than it can bear. Everyone get every good that it earns and suffers every ill it earns.
Therefore our lord condemned us not if we forget or fall into error our lord lay not on us a burden like that which thou didst lay on those before us or burden greater than we can bear, blot out our sins and grant us forgiveness, have mercy on us thou art our protector.
Oh! Allah descend peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his companions, and the his family and all those who follow them in righteousness till the day of reckoning.
