Every sort of particle is adulterating a jar of honey one by one, after the sieve in place has been removed carrying with it coarser elements.
U. C. Chopra in his book, Amazing World of Insect, Publication Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, writes, on honey: Its purity is such that with its enormously rich concentration of health-giving sugars, properly ripened honey, even when exposed to external contamination, destroys all harmful bacteria that may settle on it, dealing them death within an hour or so. [P. 41]
He writes further: There is no way of adulterating pure honey without any chance of detection. If it is skillfully diluted with warm water it merely ferments. If it is contaminated by the addition of cane, maple or maize syrup, it just separates. If it is blended with other sugars, it thickens and goes solid. [P. 42]
Thus is the quality of honey.Then what role the sieve played? It just did nothing but helped honey in preventing those polluting agents entering it, and maintain its purity. Sieve or no sieve honey always has the (self)-defence properties compared to other food.Such are the qualities the Muslim has that of good deeds and the sieve being the month of Ramadhan, the defence properties being Islam. The polluting agents are the bad-deeds.
