I am Muslim
I am that which believes in one Lord
I am that who gives to my brother or sister what I can afford
Each day of the week
There are five prayers I have to repeat
I accept as true, in all that is right
I believe that surrounded by every good struggle lays the hard fight
I forbid what is incorrect
And I don’t follow all the other sects
I am free to be me
Surrounded by love kindness and generosity
I undergo good and bad times
Struggle for all the dollars and dimes
As long as I can see that Islam is my life
I will gladly go through any pain and strife
There’s always something better ahead
Insha’Allah Jannah when I am dead
I am proud to be me
My life is filled with alhamdulillah’s- all praise to be
Given to one and only
Whose ayats console me
