Ramadhan - The Month of Mercy

Here is Ramadhan,
The month after Sha’ban,
And of fasting,
And spiritual cleansing.
Bearer of Purity,
Harbinger of Mercy.
Wherein the Prophet received Revelation...
(Therein is Guidance, our Salvation,)
In the Night of Power,
(That is Laylah-al-Qadr,)
In the Arabic Language,
(To all is the Message.)
Wherein callousness disappears,
Kindness appears,
And enmity decreases,
And amity increases.
That is Ramadhan,
The month after Sha’ban.
After suhur, and at dawn,
For Salah-al-Fajr comes the adhan,
And to start the day’s fast.
At dusk, to end the day’s fast,
And for Salah-al-Maghrib, comes the adhan.
And it continues until the end of Ramadhan.
We bow low,To Allah, in rows,
For His forgiveness with hope,
By clinging to His rope.
We perform salah,
We pay zakah.
Here is Ramadhan,
For the purification of our Iman,
The month of fasting,
And of cleansing,
Through which sins are washed,
And rewards lavished.
