cup my cell phone
in my hands
like a little
copy of the
holy Quran
back from
when I had
strong faith...
like the little
strong men who
sit and silently
pray while
reading bobbing
piously back
and forth
and expect
without
expecting
hope without
hoping and
believe without
seeing that
the Divine
Voice will
come again
every reading
and bubble
up forth
from between
their cupped
palms
and into their
lives
like your
missing Voice
into mine
this is the
test of
my faith
but I
will not
fail it
God will
talk to
me
again.
