Why you be lookin' at me?

What is it you see that makes you stare so freakishly?

Is it because I cover mah head and dress modestly?

Because with you I refuse to act flirtaciously? I refuse to be like the women on TV who dress scandalously just for some money. I refuse to act seductively to get with some man, only to find him leave me for some otha "honey."

And no, I aint oppressed. What I do I do freely.
Iz mah choice. Hear that?

I got mah own voice.

So dont be feelin sorry for me.

Actually I be pityin you.
You and your life and the crap you go through.

Filled with insecurity youre hopelessly tryin to put broken pieces back together, tryin to find some stability.

But you cant, Everywhere you turn, you see hypocrisy.

So why are your eyes still starin at me with surprise? Wake up and realize before you meet your demise. You gotta recognize that Im a Muslimah strivin for paradise.
