His eyes,
Travelling over me,
I recognize,
The lust in what he sees.
My shame,
Burns like fire,
The same,
Of which his heart is dire.
He raises,
A powerful hand,
And the daisies
Of my youth are un-clad
Humiliation,
Raids my mind.
Frustration,
Is left behind.
But suddenly a lamp blinks,
Hope creeps up as my fear sinks.
A darkly clad figure,
The light of modesty surrounds her.
Her long cloak of dignity,
Swirls around her untouched beauty.
Her veil of grace,
Covers her glowing face.
I grasp
Her arm of protection.
My eyes snap,
Onto her heart of salvation.
But her gaze,
Of unwavering intelligence,
Wiped the daze
From my obscured sense.
And I saw as she sees.
As clearly as the cedar trees,
My broken, shattered dignity,
A relic of parading my femininity.
And again a lamp blinks,
