The five principal obligatory duties that have been enjoined upon a Muslim by the religion of Islam are 1. Belief in Allah (One God) and Muhammad is the prophet of God, with all our mind, body, heart, and soul. 2. Offering the Obligatory Prayers (Fardh) five times a day. 3. Paying Zakat (Charity) 4. Observing fasts during the Holy Month of Ramadan. 5. Going on a Pilgrimage (Hajj) to Kabah, the Holy House, if our means allow it.
One of the main objections of the Christian Missionaries against the Religion of Islam is that performing the act of prayers, and observing of fasts as enjoined upon Muslims, on the ground that they cannot be done in some religions of the world.
According to them, readers of geography are aware of the fact that there are certain regions where the day and night are of six months duration. In other regions, the night is of one or two minutes duration and God knows every time and place. If the Holy Quran had been the Word of God, and Islam a Universal Religion, the rules contained in it would have been such that they could be followed by all the inhabitants of the world. It appears from this charge that the Christian Missionaries do not consider the Holy Quran to be the Word of God.
Now let us look at their Bible which they consider holy. In Exodus 21:2 and Deuteronomy 15:12, which says that if you buy a Hebrew servant, six years shall he serve: and in the seventh, he shall go out free for nothing.
In Exodus 35:2-3, it is said about Saturday, Whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death, and ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations on Sabbath Day.
In Leviticus 15:19, we read, If a woman has an issue and her issue, in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart for seven days.
Now the reader is asked to consider the above verses carefully. If a Hebrew slave will be liberated according to this law in a place, where the day and night are each of our six months duration, then six years of labor in such a place will be equal to approximately two thousand years in duration calculated according to our time.
Again, Saturday there would be like all other days in the week of six months length according to our calculation. During this period, no work is to be done, and no fire is to be kindled, unless on the pain of death.
Besides this, a woman in menstruation is to keep herself aloof there for seven days, i.e. six years and six months according to our calculation. Nevertheless, during such a long period she would again start menstruating. She should sit apart again for the same period. This would mean that a woman should sit in a corner from the first appearance of puberty to her death. There are many other rules like these in the Bible.
Now we put the same question to the Christian Missionaries. Presuming that God possessed knowledge of all times and places then the Bible cannot be His word, because it contains rules, which cannot be followed uniformly all over the world. If we measure the Bible by the same charge of the Christian Missionaries against the Holy Quran, we find that the verses quoted above prove that the Bible is not the Word of God and neither it is holy as it had been claimed by the Christian Missionaries. Otherwise, it should not have contained such rules and Christianity therefore cannot be called as a Universal Religion.
The Muslims ask the Christian Missionaries to accept the same answer for the Holy Quran, which they will give for the Bible in answer to these objections.
