Complacency throughout the American Muslim community is pervasive to say the very least.
I have been very hard pressed to find any real fire or outrage about the innumerable injustices going on in America and throughout the earth. It was and still is my thinking that we were put here to fight these injustices, not to live in the midst of them and act like we dont have the power to change this wicked system.
How can we call ourselves Muslims and walk by and see people living death, eating death, and preparing themselves to become one with death and not even propagate the religion that has given us life? This is unconscionable. Islam is life. I know this to be an absolute truth because before I had Islam I had nothing. I loved Shaitan and his world. Until Allah sent to me wise men and women with the life changing message of God. For this I could never thank Allah enough, even if I lived to be ten thousand years old.
Growing up in the Bronx, New York I saw Muslims in my everyday life and at that time I did not even know it. I had Muslim neighbors. There were the store owners that I would purchase pork rinds from and sold cigarettes illegally out of the pack for twenty-five cents each to minors. I heard not a whisper about the Prophet [pbuh] or his teachings from these who in most instances have had Islam their whole lives.
So I ask the Ummah, what are you doing to bring the mentally and spiritually dead to life?
