By Khalil

The oak tree outside my window - its summer green so clean and pleasant the result of God’s growth.

In autumn its leaves turn bright yellow as a caution light warning of the impending winter - God’s change. As He changes the leaves He changes our lives. Dark hair turns gray than sometimes-pure white.

Eyes once taken for granted need help and sometime treatment to even see.

Thoughts once of passion turn to compassion and of God’s greater gifts.

Lovers whose kiss in which we so delighted now their wisdom we seek and a gentle touch of their hand suffices.

The world of which we were once the focus is now seen to belong to God.

Those things we once did for fame and fortune, we now seek to do for others pleasure.

Words escape our grasp until synchroncity brings them later.

As we can never step into the same stream twice nor can we our life.

God’s Change.
