Assalamalaikum to all my brothers and sisters around the world.

I have lived in North America for 29 years. I am a born Muslim. I grew up in a very strict Muslim society here in America. I have read many articles about what is going on here in the world. The 9/11 attack,  Isreal vs. Palastine, Universe Pageant, and many others that I have read in newspapers. Then here we are, as Muslims, trying to teach the nation first of all and then the world of what Islam and jihad mean. To the world, well, they do not care at this moment; all the worlds cares are in the hands of the U.S. What we, Muslims, need to understand is we live in America. The government is trying to protect the citizens of this country just like any other country would protect their citizens. The President has the biggest responsibilites which, of course, is to protect the people of the United States. When the INS starts cracking down on immigrants from Middle Eastern countries, why are we upset? How would you like to own property and someone is living there and not paying rent to you to pay your mortgage on the property? Or even better, destroys our property - then what?

There is no discrimination when we know deep down inside that a Muslim person was behind the terror that landed in America in 9-11-01. What Bin Ladin did was not right, but in the terrorists eyes well, they saw something we did not. We as Muslims are overseeing a very important message. Do we really understand what it going on, or are we just trying to hide a well-known fact? How can we sit here and try to educate Americans and the world that we, Muslims, are not bad people, that jihad is not a war? Jihad is a war! A war that embodies a soul to react with no guilt because the soul is "forgiven". Muslim extremists are forgiven for their act of cruelty. They are trying to send a message and we all know that. Well why not... Look at us! In America we have freedom of speech. We are allowed to practice our religion in any which way. No one will tell us any different.

In the Quran, it states the laws of being Muslim. It states what needs to be followed. We have prophecies that were handed down from generation to generation, and we still are trying to encript the Quran to our living standards in this day and time. Men are scared that INS will arrest and detain Muslims and send them back to where they came from. Should they not go back? Should they be registered? Sex offenders are and automobiles are and now that we mention it even guns are registered! They do not have legal papers to stay in this country. They did not have permission to enter but were granted either a asylum or refugee status because their own country could not protect them. Yes protection! That is what America is doing as of this moment. We are trying to protect our country. Is that not what our parents wanted? And our grandparents? Did we come here for freedom? Well what could be another reason? Did we not want to send our children to school and have a better education because the country we came from would not allow our sons or daughters to go to school? Did we come here to start a business because in our own country we did not get help from the government and we get help here? Did we not want to come here to watch television and it would not matter what the show was about? Did we come here to mingle with the opposite sex and not have to worry about the police arresting us if we did?

We, Muslims, need to understand what is happening in the Middle East and how they have followed a religion to the full extent and abided to all the laws of Islam. We, as Muslims, are not permitted to listen to music. We are not permitted to have opposite sex friends. Women are not allowed to cut their hair and do their nails and not wear men clothes (pants). When it is time to pray we stop everything we are doing to ask Allah for forgiveness and mercy and to spare us and have no harm come to us. And the list goes on and on.

The Middle East looks at us and sees a different kind of Muslim. They see a more laid back Muslim. They might cover the hair but have fake nails on. The men go to juma but lust over women on TV. So who do you think should be educated? America really does not think about how the Muslims live in this country, they think about why Muslims in other countries are doing this. Muslim in other parts of the world think that we in America have too much power, that we give too many rights to women. Just imagine how much anger they have for us and/or envy. Maybe the other Muslims feel that we set a bad example for the religion, and that we are not following the Islamic law. We need to educate Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and we need to understand them way before we have Americans understand us!!

Wasalaam.
