By Khalil Abdel Alim

Words are symbols of ideas. Ideas motivate behavior. Too many Muslims today manifest a prophecy of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in regard to the Last Days - that the ignorance of Islam would abound. That ignorance causes the misuse of and misunderstanding of Qur’anic words and concepts. The Prophet said that if you call someone a kafir (disbeliever) and they are not, the term rebounds on you making you a disbeliever. He also said that a womans jihad was the care of her home and family and that the greatest jihad is the struggle with you.

Yet we find Muslims referring to all non-Muslims as kuffar, and politically motivated warfare and violence as jihad.

That judgment of peoples belief is reserved for Allah in the hereafter. He says that people of all faiths will be judged by Him and shall receive their reward for the good that they do. No one can know the heart except Allah.

Observation of the behavior and conduct of people will reveal some non-Muslims who act like Muslims and some who call themselves Muslims acting as Allah says that disbelievers act.

We should study the Qur’an carefully seeking the guidance of Allah and be guided by it alone. Why risk your salvation?
