From where there was...
| From where there was nothing
No energy or atom
He created it all
Saying, ‘Be’
And it was.
He created them all
The sun and the moon
The mountains and seas
The wind and the rain
And the skies.
Upon the earth
He created man
With mind
And will
And spirit
To worship
The
One
True
God.
People, he said,
You, of the Book.
Jew, Christian
Sabaean, Muslim
Worship only Me.
He gave us speech
To praise His name
Allah
Most Beneficent
Most Merciful.
He sent us Prophets
To guide our way
Down a straight
And narrow
Path. |
He provided us
The written word
That all
Should be able
To know Him
The guidance He gave
Was perfect and true
Not a single thing
Left to question
Or chance.
But, Man,
In pure rebellion
Defiled the
Words
Of the Lord.
Until there came one
Sent from Allah
The final messenger
To declare the words
Of Qur’an.
From the heart of an orphan
Of ignoble birth
He removed
A single
Spot.
Many years later
From a mountain cave
Muhammad returned
Revealing the words
Of Allah.
To a pagan people
Worshipping statues of clay
Jibriel, he said, visited me
He gave me these words
To proclaim. |
There is
No
God
But
Allah.
For twenty-three years
The Prophet communed
With the angel
Of the
Lord.
And when it was done
He left behind
The perfection
Of our
Deen.
From that day to this
Not a single
Dot
Has been altered
Or removed.
If it is truth you seek
From Allah above
You will find it
In the
Qur’an. | Last update : 27-09-2002 20:36
