Complacency throughout the American Muslim community is pervasive to say the very least.
I have been very hard pressed to find any real fire or outrage about the innumerable injustices going on in America and throughout the earth. It was and still is my thinking that we were put here to fight these injustices, not to live in the midst of them and act like we dont have the power to change this wicked system.
My friend, Mohammed Naseem, delivered a short talk on how a Muslim should treat his neighbors, and I recorded it. Surely within the sixteen-year period since discovering the Qur’an, I had read reports of what the Prophet [saws] said about neighbors — but something in Imam Naseem’s presentation struck me as new, and it stuck with me: A believer is responsible for x number of neighbors to his right; x number of neighbors to his left; x number of neighbors in front; and x number of neighbors behind.

Islam has raised the status of parents to a level that is unknown in any other religion. Following are the duties enjoined on us toward the most important people in a Muslims life - after Allah – our parents. The duties of a son or a daughter are identical.
1) Saying the Azan [ Call to Prayer] in the Ear
2) Tahnik
3) Aqiqa
4) Tasmiya
5) Religious Upbringing
6) Importance of Showing Kindness to Daughters
7) Treating Children Equally
8)Responsibility of Marriage
It is the girls right to make a decision concerning her marriage, and here father or guardian is not permitted to override her objections or ignore her wishes. The Prophet[S] said,
"A woman who has been previously married has more right concerning her person than her guardian, and a virgins consent must be asked about herself, her consent being her silence."
