Politics of Cowardice
All Praise be to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala and Salat and Salaam on His Prophet (Salallahu alaihi wa sallam). May Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala protect you and me from the evils of my soul and from those of my surroundings and circumstances and guide you and me to that which is pleasing to Him and which is for our benefit on the Day of Judgment. Anything good in what I am going to say is from the guidance of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala and any mistakes are from the evil of my self and the whisperings of shaitaan. I seek the refuge of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala from the shaitaan and ask for His forgiveness for you and for me. Thereafter:
In these strange times that we live in, it is critical to our Imaan and our very humanness to periodically question the stances that we take, lest we become victims to the whisperings of shaitaan who seeks to ease our path to Jahannam.
First, let me share my understanding of what is happening in the world today....

The spread of the Religion of Islam had forever altered the course of the history of the world. Within a short span after the Holy Prophet Muhammad had passed away from this world, the Muslims had carried the religion preached by him to different parts of Asia and Europe. In less than nine years, after the death of the Holy Prophet they were in control of Persia. A year later, they had become the rulers of Egypt. From there, they swept westward and nine decades later, they were in control of the entire North African Continent and their rule stretched from Egypt to the land of Morocco. They extended their rule into Spain and Portugal. On the other side, the lands of Muslims extended eastward into India and eventually to the islands of South East Asia...
Carl Marx once said that religion is the opiate of the people, if this is the case then religion is nothing more than a way to subdue and contain the masses. If this is the case religion could not effect the changes in society that have been brought through the teaching of religious men and women. Look at the way that Malcolm X moved the masses through his words motivated by his belief in a religion, religion did not subdue Malcolm on the contrary it motivated and altered him in to a man that worked to elevate the plight of his people to a new level. Can man change?...

As salaam u Alaikum. I begin by greeting you in the traditional Muslim fashion with wishes of peace and blessings.
As a first-generation Muslim American of Pakistani descent, I have been strongly influenced by my belief in the American dream. For my family, the American dream has meant shaping our lives and cherishing the freedom and opportunities afforded to us, as well as being able to peacefully practice our faith and values. From a historical perspective, the American dream is an extension of the values of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, upon which the United States was founded. The dream we call the “American dream,” however, is not confined to America’s borders. Indeed, I cannot think of any place on earth where a better life is not sought after. From a global perspective, therefore, the American dream is ultimately a universal dream. However, it remains elusive for billions of people all over the world—even including many in the United States.
Darkness falls in the land of Iraq. The mother and sister of a young suicide bomber weep. They sit in their dark home waiting for God knows what. What’s next? My brother is gone....Father went before him......I hear gun fire and explosions...
